latest news online - saram denies sexual charges against him

latest news online

New Delhi: Under scanner after a minor girl accused him of sexual assault, Asaram Bapu’s ashram in Sabarmati has released a statement denying the charges levied against the Godman. A spokesman for the spiritual leader said that the charges of assault are an attempt to malign Asaram’s image.

“The girl says the incident took place on August 15 at Jodhpur. But Bapu left Jodhpur on August 11, so how can this be true?”, said spokesman Sunil  Wankhede. He added, “The girl registered the case in Delhi because in Delhi the police is bound to register an FIR related to crime against women without carrying preliminary investigation.”
